Two things have happened over the last 2 weeks I’m writing another blog about how to get more likes on Instagram. AND Instagram is on a war path again when it comes to organic likes, reach and audience growth.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen influencers who I keep tabs on week to week, see engagement drops. Big engagement drops. Also, I’ve been notified that Instagram is throwing more action blocks into the mix.
Action blocks if you have never gotten one (consider yourself lucky) is when Instagram blocks you for doing too many actions in a certain time. Is it based on hourly? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Actions.
A lot of people are confident it is a total of actions per month and if you exceed the action limit they suspect you of being a bot and block you from doing any activities (liking, commenting, following, messaging) for a week or two. It is ridiculous.
Instagram in my opinion was a much more powerful platform when they didn’t lock down everyone on such strict guidelines. Let us be social on your social media app please.

This is what will help you get likes as well as popularity. Think of national geographic magazine. When they send you a copy and you look at the images, they are all edited very similar! Treat Instagram as your own magazine. Make it look like a best seller.

Only Use Vertical Photos
To keep your grid (the appearance of your photos next to each other as you scroll through your profile) intact, you want to keep all photos vertical.
If you add a horizontal image into the fray when you are scrolling through the grid you will see black above the actual photo. Nothing ruins a scroll like seeing a chunk of black among a sea of image.
Use The Right Hashtags
I did an earlier blog, Instagram Search and Explore, where I talked about how to use the right hashtags to gain organic reach on Instagram.
I suggested the app “Hashme” or “Hashtag Expert.” Both of these apps are built to streamline the hashtag search process for you. All you do is search a keyword related to your page or the image itself and it will find the top hashtags related to that keyword.
From there you can copy and paste whichever tags you want right into your Instagram post’s caption or comments. How easy is that!!
Engage With People to Get More Likes on Instagram!!!!
The last way on how you can get more likes on Instagram is to constantly engage and network with your followers or people who are engaging with pages in your niche.
